Ayres was responsible for co-directing the inaugural NIRCA National Cross Country Championships, hosted by Penn State in November 2006. He carries this experience into his current position of consulting with NIRCA member clubs hosting invitationals and championships. Steve is a graduate of Penn State University where he recieved his degree in aerospace engineering. Previously the president and vice president of the PSU club cross country team, he is also a co-founder of NIRCA. Steve entered the U.S. Air Force as of May 2008.
