The NIRCA Mission

The purpose of the Association is to promote the sport of competitive running for students at the collegiate club level. By serving as the sport's governing body and central point of communication we will provide structure previously unavailable for college running, cross country and track clubs alike.

Of course we not only believe that providing competition is important, but believe that providing clubs with access to other clubs like their own is beneficial as well. By supplying contact information and connections to other clubs, our members have the opportunity to meet and learn from other runners.

We welcome any collegiate running related clubs to join our organization and encourage those members to host their own races. These races act as a fundraiser for the host institution and also promote the sport of running. At the end of the fall cross country season the NIRCA National Championships take place, hosted at one of our member universities. Last year's extremely successful inaugural event took place at Penn State University and the 2007 NIRCA National Championships will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
