2008 NIRCA National Championships

Weekend Event Schedule

State College, PA

 

 

Friday November 7th

 

1pm–4pm:      Team Check-in and Race Packet Pick-up at Rec Hall (located on Atherton St. and Burrows adjacent to the Golf Course) on the Penn State Campus

 

4pm-6pm:       Course walk and run through at the Penn State Blue/White Golf Course

                        (parking lot closest to Start/Finish line is off of Atherton St.)

                        Penn State Club has 1-2 club members assigned to each team to take them through the course and explain the course map/field questions

                        Important: Teams may not begin course run through until 4pm per  Golf Course request as a courtesy to golfers and also must not interfere with golfers on other parts of the course between 4 and 6

 

                        Packet Pick-up at the Golf Course behind Soccer/Rugby Fields

 

7pm-9pm:       All-Club Dinner at Rotelli’s Italian Restaurant located at 252A E. Calder Way in Downtown State College. Dinner will be $7 per person and includes pasta, salad, and breadsticks. A certain area of the restaurant will be open only to NIRCA teams.

 

Saturday November 8th

 

7am:                Team packet pick-up begins

 

8am:                Warm-ups and course walk-throughs begin

 

9am:                Men’s Championship Race (follow blue line for 8k)

 

10am:             Women’s Championship Race (follow white line for 6k)

 

11am:              Must be off actual golf course as play re-opens to golfers; can remain at course behind Soccer/Rugby fields designated for teams to set up tents or areas

 

12pm:               Award Ceremony in Rec Hall’s South Gym

 

2pm-5pm:       PSU Club will have each team’s assigned PSU-liaison on call and 

available for campus/downtown tours or to field questions about the area that team may have in order to plan social activities throughout the day. Liaisons will be assigned at team check-in/packet pickup on Friday and Saturday morning.

 

7:30pm-10pm: All-Club Social and Dance Party at the Ramada Inn on South Atherton Street (approximately 1 mile from Downtown State College and the  Penn State campus). The social is Free!! Runners must wear their NIRCA Nationals wristband (distributed at team check-in) to attend.
