Hershey, PA to host 2012 Cross Country Nationals

Hershey, also known as the “Sweetest Place on Earth”, is home to the world-famous chocolate company and its sweets. Events are standard for the city, with attractions and the themed Hershey Park amusement park lending itself nicely to hosting the more than 2000 expected runners and visitors who will come to the chocolate town for Cross Country Nationals.

The Parkview course is a former golf course with a reputation for being one of the most challenging cross country courses in the state due to a number of large, steep hills. It has hosted 5 consecutive PIAA State Championships, providing the rigor required for a national-caliber course. Runners will enjoy the golf course like views, bridges, and glimpses of the amusement park’s roller coaster attractions while racing at Parkview.

More details on the 2012 Cross Country Nationals will be available at clubrunning.org.

The National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) is the governing body and central point of communication for the college running community. The grassroots organization promotes networking and friendly competition amongst collegiate running, cross country, and track clubs. NIRCA coordinates many events, including a fall cross country season, Cross Country Championship Series, Road and Track Nationals, and all-club conferences. NIRCA is more than just running.
