Last year, all runners received wristbands to commemorate the ’08 Championship. Make sure to collect this year’s 2009 National Championships wristband from your race packet.
Get a dog...a hot dog. Burgers and dogs for all! Tailgate with Saucony in the parking lot after the meet. Cornhole, music, football, and food—it doesn’t get better than this. Gear up in your team’s colors/jersey and represent your school!
Invite your friends! New for 2009, the National Championship meet also includes an Open/Alumni cross country race! Spread the word and invite your club alumni, parents, and friends to run the 5k. Register at clubrunning.org - and if you’re not convinced yet, entry costs only five dollars.
Get to know campus. We’re racing in Ypsilanti and celebrating in Ann Arbor. Ypsilanti is home to Eastern Michigan University, while Ann Arbor holds the University of Michigan. Information with local area information and points of interest will be included in your race packet.
Bring shoes for charity. Benefit Soles4Souls.
MRun asks: Can we collect 700 pairs of shoes? Winners announced at the awards ceremony. Your shoe donations will go to men and women in need in the US and worldwide. All shoes will be accepted- running, dress, casual, etc. Clean out your closet and support a good cause!
Take home a shirt. Short-sleeve Nationals event tees will be available on race day. You may also be interested in NIRCA-logo tech shirts – in a few styles and colors.
Drop in at USATF. You may have spotted the infamous trailer at the Boston Marathon or the Prefontaine Classic, but on November 14th you’ll find it at the NIRCA National Championship XC Meets. Say hello to our friends at USA Track & Field at the meet!

Celebrate a fantastic Fall Season at the awards reception and ceremony. Team and individual award winners from the National Championships will be announced; other team and individual awards will be announced, as well as some big NIRCA news. Dress is business casual; jeans are permitted.

Take a short, easy run through campus on Sunday morning to shake off the legs from Saturday’s effort. Look forward to a post-run breakfast outing with the group before the trip home.
