Eligibility

In the event of an A-B Race split

A member clubs can qualify for seven spots in the NIRCA Cross Country National Championships “A” Race by competing in the NIRCA Cross Country Regional Championships. This rule applies per gender. The seven spots are to be specified by the member club at the time of Nationals registration. All seven spots do not have to be used and cannot be transferred to another member club. Academically ineligible club members may participate in the "B" Race.

Team

Only member clubs may participate in NIRCA Sanctioned Events. Member clubs are not required to attend at least one NIRCA sanctioned race prior to the National Championships. Any NIRCA member clubs may register and participate in the 2012 Spring Nationals.

Individual

Individuals must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at the University/College they wish to compete for and cannot be on a varsity team roster during their semester/quarter of NIRCA competition. Students must also be in academic good standing. Currently there are no individual qualifying standards for the Spring Road and Track Nationals.

Nationals

All clubs must confirm their NIRCA eligibility with their universities prior to participating in the NIRCA National Championships each season. In order to do so:

1. have your runners sign the eligibility form
2. turn it in to your University Registrar to verify the information
3. mail the form to

The form must be received before the National Championship meet.

Submitting this form does not register your club for Nationals - It only verifies eligibility. You must separately register.
